as u can see below... part of my tiredness comes from the visit.. but its really well worth it.. not onli because i learned much about dialysis...but i can really appreciate the extent of the suffering of a kidney failure patient.. and the how the problem affects the whole population.

this is another thing tat we can be 'proud' of in Malaysia... on average.. a patient need to wait 15-16 YEARS to get a kidney transplant. in the meantime, they gotta go for dialysis every 2 days, 4 hours each time.. so..practically, ur life is minimized. theres an endless list of food that the patient cant eat, extreme care is needed for the AV fistula on their hands. can u imagine that?no more studies, onli light sports, no junk food... and i even see patients as young as 21 there!!! r they gonna spend their better days on that machine?? and the cost of dialysis is enormous!! RM 120 each time(govn pays 50, others u pay), EPO injection RM 60 each time, vit D injection RM 30.... so.. u do the math.. and remember it could be 3 times higher if u do privately. and again the waiting list of govn dialysis center means ur lucky if u didn die or bankupt b4 u can get the dialysis.

so..ppl.. thank God if ur kidneys are still working. take care of it.. (diabetes is the main reason y ppl's kidneys fail) and educate others bout it..

to go one step further, i like to ask everyone to be an organ donor. u dun need any of those when ur dead. so..if some parts of u can save lives, y not give it away? a pair of kidneys saves 4 lives! (2 ppl get one kidneys each, 2 ppl get to be on dialysis).

Hey Ernest... i was just wondering (this is completely random) has anyone called you Ernie before as a nick name? the thought just struck me!!

Anywaz.. Seeing a dialysis patient or just going to the dialysis ward can really change your perspective and you have to be thankful for your kidneys! i still remember when i did the hospital attachment at damansara specialist centre.. there was this one patient who was using his neck for dialysis. i can still remember him..

eye opener when you said that two kidneys can save four lives.. I thought you got your maths wrong! lol.. sometimes we just take everything for granted!!
